International Packing Suggestions

Check Airline Baggage Policies

  •  Different airlines have varying baggage policies. Make sure to check the weight, size, and number of bags allowed to avoid extra fees.

Make a Packing List

  •  Create a detailed packing list well in advance. This will help you avoid overpacking and ensure you don’t forget essential items.

Pack Light and Smart

  •  Stick to versatile clothing that you can mix and match. Remember, you can always do laundry while traveling, so avoid overstuffing your suitcase.

Choose the Right Luggage

  •  Invest in durable, lightweight luggage. A carry-on is often sufficient for most trips, especially with airlines that charge for checked baggage.

Use Compression Bags

  •  Compression bags are perfect for saving space and reducing wrinkles. They are especially useful for bulky items like jackets or sweaters.

Keep Important Documents Accessible

  •  Have a travel wallet or pouch for your passport, visa, travel insurance, flight tickets, and any other important documents. Keep them in a safe but easily accessible place.

Pack a Power Adapter/Converter

  •   Different countries use different plug types and voltage standards. Research your destination and pack the correct adapter or voltage converter for your devices.

Carry a Small First Aid Kit

  •    Bring essential medications, band-aids, pain relievers, and any other necessary health items. It’s better to have them on hand than hunt for a pharmacy in a foreign country.

Use Ziplock Bags for Liquids

  •     Most airports require that liquids be in containers of 100ml or less and placed in a clear, resealable plastic bag. Use these bags for toiletries to save space and ensure you comply with regulations.

Wear Bulky Items

  •    If you're bringing bulky clothing or shoes (like a coat or sneakers), wear them on the flight rather than packing them in your luggage. This saves valuable packing space.

Pack a Change of Clothes and Prescription Medications in Your Carry-On

  •    Always keep a spare set of clothes in your carry-on bag in case of delayed or lost luggage.

Be Prepared for Security Checks

  •     Remember to pack your electronics, liquids, and other items that require separate screening in an easily accessible part of your bag for quicker passage through airport security.
